Description The Steyr AUG A3 Z QCB SR PIC is part of the modern AUG rifle family produced by Steyr Arms. The AUG platform is recognized for its bullpup configuration, where the action and magazine are positioned behind the trigger group. This layout allows the rifle to maintain a long barrel in a compact overall length, improving maneuverability while preserving ballistic performance. The rifle operates with a gas-operated short-stroke piston system and rotating bolt, ensuring reliable operation even in harsh environments. The AUG also features a quick-change barrel (QCB) system, allowing the shooter to remove and replace the barrel quickly without tools. This configuration uses a 508 mm (20-inch) cold hammer-forged barrel chambered in .223 Remington / 5.56×45 NATO. Longer barrels such as the 508 mm variant are available in the AUG system to provide improved velocity and range compared with shorter carbine barrels. The SR PIC (Special Receiver Picatinny) configuration replaces the traditional AUG integrated optic with a flat-top MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, allowing the installation of various optics such as red-dot sights, magnified scopes, or night-vision devices.
